Philip_April

Things are getting back to "normal" around here and I love it. April was full of playdates and fun - all the things we missed in March!

Playing it cool at Joey's house
Jack missed Philip's birthday party due to illness in February and we finally got around to a "Party Redo" this month
I love this smile!
We went to Philip's follow up appointment at CHOA where he was given the "ALL CLEAR!"
He was allowed to stop therapy and follow up in one year. What a BLESSING!
While we were at the appointment, we ran into one of his friends from Rehab, Christian!

Joey and Rachel

As our move date gets closer and closer, we have packed our calendar with "Good-Bye" dinners. Though we know our transition to Tennessee won't end the relationships we have developed in Georgia, things will be different and we want to celebrate our friendships before we leave.

Tonight we had a quiet, kid free dinner with Joey and Rachel. We met Joey and Rachel when they came to Grace Chapel and were a part of the "Young Professionals" class. They were married last June and have transited to the "Young Marrieds" group at GCCC. It has been a privilege to know this couple and we look forward to their visits to Tennessee!

Peace, Y'all

I took one look at Philip's outfit today and had to snap a picture. He threw up the "peace" sign and then Elizabeth wanted to as well. She didn't do as good of a job as Philip she was just as cute!

Brown's Bridge

Uncle Gerald asked Philip to help him with his Sunday evening sermon. Gerald was speaking about what he learned through Philip's illness and recovery.  At end of his speech, he invited Philip to the stage to join him. It was quite the visual effect.

With Uncle Gerald before the service started.

A Chorus Line

I have made a list of "Must Dos" before we move to Nashville. On that list was to visit the local theater - the Cumming Playhouse. I have wanted to see so many shows there over the years, but never did. When Lisa asked if I wanted to go see "The Chorus Line," I immediately said 'Yes!"

The play was great - I love community theater. The playhouse was adorable, and I loved spending time with Lisa!

Track Meet

Last year, Jackson participated in the Optimist Club Track Meet. This year, he wanted to run again and we signed Philip up as well. Our neighbors signed up their two and we made a morning out of it. Bernie and Wesley were both out of town so Jenn and I took the 5 kids over to Central High School for a morning of fun!

The kids all did great in their events. Competition reared its' ugly head a couple of times between the boys but we left with all smiles! It was a fun fun morning!

Softball toss
They let Elizabeth participate in the softball toss and she threw it a whopping 8 feet!

We were the last to leave the event. The kids really had fun playing on the high school field!

Coke Museum

Wesley had a work event tonight at the Coke Museum. Since Friday night is our Small Group night, he invited the gang to join the party. It was so much fun! The party was great with delicious food and live music. But the highlight of the night was the ride downtown and back home. It was fun to chat and cut up with this amazing group of friends.

Moving Van

To save a few dollars Wesley decided that instead of hiring a moving company, he would take a load of our possessions each time he went to West End to preach.

He had worked it out with the Elders to preach every other week from April until June so Wesley traveled to Nashville 5 times with all our belongs trailered behind his Excursion.

Our first load almost didn't make it up Mont Eagle mountain because of car trouble. Yikes!

It did make it but once we got back home to Cumming, we had to take it in. A few repairs later and it was ready for the next trip. Wesley and I were amazed that we filled that trailer up 5 times with our belongings! We had no idea we had so much stuff!!!

Tiny Towne

Aimee and JJ had told us about a new adventure in Atlanta called Tiny Towne. Groupon was running a special so Jenn and I grabbed a few vouchers and headed to Tiny Towne for our Spring Break getaway.

The kids had a blast! They were able to "drive" around the Town and play in the arcade. We finished the afternoon with a train ride around the complex. It was the perfect way to end our Spring Break week!

Even Elizabeth got to experience the driving!
She made it around one lap and then wanted off!

They are at least all in the picture!
