War Eagle Trip

Since Jackson knew what it was to be a football fan, he has cheered for Auburn. I am not sure if we credit this to Tucker or his Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Edge. Either way, his blood runs strong for the Tigers.

Since Tennessee and Auburn do not play on a regular schedule, I knew the minute AU/TN football tickets went on sale, we were grabbing them and going! It might not be a good game (TN is not good!), but I knew Jackson would love being on campus and cheering in person for his team.

Well...things didn't turn out exactly as we thought. Tennessee came to play - or Auburn didn't - and the Volunteers took home a win! We had four excited fans in our car, and one very sad little boy.  Thankfully, we packed more into the day than just the game, and Jackson ended up loving his time on the Auburn Campus.

We touched base with the Howards for a "must do" recommendation & they said Momma Goldberg's. It was our first stop!
Lynn and Joseph have become Tiger Fans since Matt started college there.
We caught up with them and Jackson was all smiles

It is a beautiful stadium

We walked right past the Auburn Eagle before he made his appearance on the field.

For October, it was so hot and our seats were in the sun. Thankfully, though since we were so high, the kids found a little space to spread out.

Before the game - Jackson was all cheers!!

But that excitement slowly waned as the Vols took the lead.

Bless his heart!!

After the game, we made plans to meet up with Ms. Dyess, a kindergarten teacher at GES!
And then we spontaneously ran into our neighbor, Brandon!
For dinner, we tried out another recommendation - Niffer's -- and it was delicious!

Poor Elizabeth didn't make it through dinner!

We took the long way home and checked in on Kesley and Jacob who are stationed in Fort Benning.
Another stop took us to DQ ~ I love it that my kids can find the fun in anything!
