Zoey & Wesley

Due to the fact that Zoey and Wesley were born prematurely in the middle of a global pandemic, Gerald and Kiley have been understandable cautious about who is allowed in their home to visit Zoey and Wesley. We were talking to them a few weeks ago, and they said "If you will quarantine for 10 days, stay away from restaurants, wear your mask and be smart, you can come down here."

WHAT? Yes! I asked if Elizabeth could come with me and they said, "Yes."  So, we stayed very safe, packed our bags and headed to Atlanta.

We stopped for lunch and to put on a movie - Aunt Minutha's wedding video!
It was the perfect video for Elizabeth!

Excitement doesn't even begin to describe how we were feeling. Although we had both seen Zoey and Wesley in person, we could not wait to hold these precious angels!

There was an INSTANT love connection between these three girls

Yes, we wanted to hold and love on Zoey & Wesley but we also wanted to give Gerald & Kiley a bit of a break. We asked to do as many of the feedings as we could/ the girls would let us...that meant getting up early. I was afraid Elizabeth would not be up for it, and I was WRONG!

She was up before the girls were! It was a good thing that she was with me. For one, I could not have fed both girls by myself and secondly, the girls liked her much more than they liked me! After their morning bottles, we went downstairs to play!

Wednesday afternoon we went to the park with Gerald when Kiley went to the doctor for a check-up on Baby 3.

Thursday, Elizabeth were on Twin duty all morning. Gerald and Kiley went to a photo shoot for their new adventure (Home Church Roswell). The girls played and napped while Elizabeth did some school work. Then we packed up and joined Kiley in Roswell for a tour of the historic district that will soon be home to the church building.

Thursday night ended up being crazy - The girls were off schedule because they had missed their afternoon nap. Elizabeth had to finish a Social Studies project and study for her spelling test, and I had to do Virtual School for my Civil Procedure and Property classes! To say we were exhausted at the end of the day was an understatement.

But after a little beauty rest, we were up and ready for another day of fun!

Look at my new shoes!

After Elizabeth's morning classes and the girls morning nap, we packed up and headed to Zoo Atlanta!

After the Zoo, we got to end the week with a visit from Minutha, Evan and Karen.

And I got to meet Baby Erick!

On our last day, Elizabeth and I got one more morning with the girls.
The girls LOVED it when Elizabeth read from their puppet book (Hey Diddle Diddle)
so we bought two more that arrived before we left. The girls enjoyed hearing the Three Little Piggies and Old McDonald too!

We arrived on Tuesday and had to drive away Saturday morning.
It was such a special time for many different reasons:
1. I think we gave Kiley & Gerald a little "off" time by doing the mornings, diapers, some baths and feedings. We hoped to show our love for them by taking away a few days of tiring activities.
2. Even though the girls were having a hard time with strangers in their house (and some separation anxiety - just think, they haven't been around many people other than Mommy and Daddy their whole lives!) it started our relationship with Zoey and Wesley that will last a lifetime. Those girls are so loved!
3. I was able to see a beautiful side of Elizabeth. She has always been a caregiver to her baby dolls, but to see it in person - WOW! Her selfless love for Zoey and Wesley and her desire to serve Gerald and Kiley was so amazing. I am so proud of her gigantic heart and can't wait to see how the Lord uses it in the future!
