Spring Break in Tennessee

With Wesley's blessing and Shannon's generosity in coming to help with boys, Elizabeth and I headed off on Thursday to spend time in Nashville for Spring Break. It was so hard to leave Emily and Baby Leighton after she was born, and I desperately wanted to get my hands on my newest niece again.  I was so thankful to have 6 days to oh and awe over this new addition!

I arrived in Nashville Thursday evening, and after dinner with Mom went over to visit Leighton. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, she, Emily and Ryan came over to my Mom's house to play. Monday was Ryan's first day back to work so I told Emily to call me if she needed me and she did! YAY! I went over and stayed for a few hours. At one point, Emily even trusted me to watch Leighton and she ran to the store.

Tuesday, Susan and I met up at Emily's. We were on baby duty and sent Emily to bed. While Leighton and Elizabeth slept, we cleaned the house from top to bottom and made lunch. It was so fun to help Emily in this way and to spend time with Susan.

Tuesday night, Emily and Ryan went out for dinner and Mom and I got to watch Leighton. It was so hard giving her back because i knew it would be weeks before I got to see her again.

I hope that she (and Emily and Ryan) know how much I love them!

In addition to hanging out with the Baby, I also enjoyed being able to be with my parents without the loudness of my fabulous boys. Though I missed them terribly, it was nice to wake up and have coffee while talking with my mom and dad. We even enjoyed a few relaxing dinners together too!

The entire trip was wonderful and I so glad I was able to have this time in Nashville!

Seeing Leighton all stretched out!

Helping Emily with the first bath:

While I was at Emily's, Elizabeth got to enjoy all new toys.  I thought she was enjoying this toy, but really, she was just enjoying her toe!
Maddie was not a fan of my bringing ANOTHER baby into the house!
Emily said Leighton didn't like to be swaddled and didn't like to sleep in her crib.
Well, Aunt Leanne got her to stay swaddled and to sleep for 2 hours in her crib!
Again, with the toe, Elizabeth?

It was BEAUTIFUL so we strolled around the neighborhood. Emily took Maddie and I had both girls .
Susan and I had so much fun perfectly playing the roles of Big Sisters!!
In addition to hanging out with Leighton, I also enjoyed a lot of 1 on 1 time with Elizabeth.
Napping with her feet hanging out!
I even got to see Priscilla who was also in town for Spring Break!
