Waiting on the Bus

Jackson's school ends at 3:00 and his bus is supposed to arrive at 3:30. One of my friends had mentioned the buses run late the first few days of school so I was prepared for him not to be home at 3:30 on the dot. I wasn't prepared for how difficult it would be waiting and not knowing when my baby would be back in my possession.

Thankfully, our school posed updates on Facebook so Wesley, Philip, Elizabeth & I waited inside until we received the message they were on their way before heading out to the stop.

I saw the bus from afar and my heart starting jumping! I was so excited to see my Kindergartner.

When I saw him, I actually started clapping!
So thankful he is too young to be embarrassed by me!

I guess he loved his new independence because he didn't wait on us to walk together back hm. He just strolled home like he owned the place.
I actually forgot to get the "First Day of School" photo on the porch before school so I made him stop for it after.

Here's the difference between being a Kindergartner and being the mom of the Kindergartener:
When asked what he thought of the day, he replied, "It was the fastest day of my life!" I laughed and said, "Really! It was the longest day of mine!"
