Cell Phone Death
Yesterday was a really rough day. I decided to take the kids to the Y after rest so I could regroup. I ran into my friend Kimberly and told her about my day.
As I was leaving her treadmill station to get on the eliptical, I uttered the words "Philip is single-handedly trying to ruin this day, but I won't let him."
I then went over to the elliptical, hopped on, and dropped my phone.
It shattered.
I got off the treadmill and headed home.
Philip was saved. It wasn't him, it was me that had ruined the day and I needed more than a regroup. I needed a restart!
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Thankfully, I woke up today to smiles, laughter and the only reminder of a bad day was a broken phone.

Splash Pad
All last summer, I heard about this new Splash Pad in Cumming. Everyone was saying how wonderful it was but we never made it out to it. My friend, Kimberly, suggested we meet up with the kids today, and I was excited about trying it out. I invited Kate & the boys to join us.
I should have thought more about this little outing before we ventured off. I knew my boys hate to get wet if there isn't a pool involved, but I thought they would be okay since they would have their swimsuits on. I was wrong. They did not enjoy it. Jackson, Philip and I spent the 90 minutes we were there arguing about when we were leaving. I finally got them to get their hair wet by bribing them with McDonalds for lunch.
I don't think be hitting up the Splash Pad anymore this summer! At least the pictures make it look like fun was had by all!

Luke's Baptism
Wesley got a call from Joel who said Luke wanted to be baptized on Wednesday night. Wesley knew he wanted to be there. Due to a previous commitment I had with VBS, I couldn't make it but Wesley packed up the kids and drove to Chattanooga for the special event.
I am so proud of Luke's decision & I am so glad my kids were able to witness Luke make such an important step in faith.
After the baptism, the families ate dinner together on the church property.

Memorial Day 2014
It was our 5th annual Memorial Day's cookout at the Smiths this year. The Howards weren't able to make it and Wesley could only stay for a few minutes, but it still was a fun, fun night.
The kids loved running around on Waylon and Katey's property and the mommies loved catching up on life. The dads did a great job of just chilling!

Mom's Gone!
LES is MORE weekend
Early in the fall, Susan, Emily and I decided we would take a Sisters' trip. We would spend until January cutting out ideas from Southern Living and then pick a place to try.
Once January came around, we looked at the places and available dates, and selected Blue Ridge GA for our first LES (Leanne, Emily, Susan) is MORE (Moms On Relaxation Exploration) weekend.
Emily and I had been to a great spa in Blue Ridge so we decided to go back and make a weekend out of this little town. It was so much fun!
Being the decisive one in the group, I made most of the plans and reservations. Friday night we went to Cactus Flower at the community theater. I enjoyed it. Susan and Emily found it entertaining.
Saturday was SPA DAY! We ate a late breakfast in the room and then had 5 hours at the spa getting a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. It was heavenly!

For dinner we went to a local Mexican place where Susan attempted to throw down so food...she didn't do a very good job :-)
Sunday, we visited a Craft fair in the town. Before entering the fair, we ate at a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant with Santa!
For dinner, we traveled a few miles up the road to Toccoa Riverside Restuarnat. They gave us one of the best seats in the house overlooking the river. It was beautiful!
Monday, we traveled home. It was a fabulous weekend and I loved spending time with Susan and Emily. I do love all our kids but it was nice to be alone with them as sisters not moms. We ate too much, laughed too much and caught up on life! I can't wait until LES is MORE 2015!
