Dirty Dancing at the Fox

I received an e-mail from the Melting Pot advertising an upcoming package: dinner & tickets to Dirty Dancing at the Fox. Since Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies, the Melting Pot is one of my favorite restaurants and I love anything at the Fox, this was a no-brainer! I was going and just needed someone to go with me!

Thankfully, my dear friend, Katey, is always up for a fun outing so we traveled to Mid-Town and enjoyed a delicious dinner and a FABULOUS show!! I loved seeing on stage the songs and dances I love from the movie. It was a great night out and the perfect way to end the holiday weekend.

Thanskgiving

2014 was a Bender family Thanksgiving. We arrived late Tuesday night and spent the holiday with Jack, Lynne, Shannon, Ron, Macey and Cole. We had an uninvited guest - the stomach bug - who took up company with Wesley. He didn't enjoy Turkey day but the rest of us stuffed ourselves with food and fun!

We headed to the park to play before the rest of the family arrived.

Elizabeth opened her birthday gift from Grammy and KD when we arrived Tuesday night and was surprised with her first American Girl Doll. She loved on her baby all weekend.

Black Friday

There are a lot of people who strongly disagree with all things surrounding Black Friday shopping. I am not one of those people. I love Black Friday shopping! I enjoy getting good deals online and I love going to the stores. Wesley and I have so much fun getting out in the crowds looking for the best deals.

Before kids, we were the crazy people who were in line when the stores opened rushing for the "it" present. Now, we just enjoy going out together to see what we can get.

Sadly, Wesley got the stomach bug this Thanksgiving so I was left without my Black Friday sidekick...or so I thought. Macey wanted to see what Black Friday was all about so she offered to go with me.

We headed out after Thanksgiving dinner to join the crazys in a little holiday shopping.

Walmart opened at 6:00 pm. We got there around 6:10.
Right before we committed to the long line in the front of the store, we went to the Garden Center and found a check-out with no wait.  We were out of Walmart by 6:30!  Score for us and double score for the attendant at Walmart who got to pose for a picture with beautiful Macey.
After Walmart, we had to kill some time before Five Below opened at 7:00 so we went to Office Max, Old Navy, & Carter's. We then waited in line so Macey could know what it felt like to wait outside in the freezing cold for a good deal!

After Five Below, we went over to Target and scored a front place parking slot! They had been opened for 90 minutes and already the crowd had died down.

Pre-K

Mrs. Sandra has been sending out pictures this month of Philip and his Pre-K class. So cute!

Philip is a very emotional singer. Here he is practicing for his Christmas program.
I got the biggest kick out of this e-mail from Mrs. Sandra.
We will be working on nose blowing and coat wearing over the Thanksgiving break!
